The former supermarket premises on Avon Road and its car park on is set be redeveloped as a new mixed-use development site. A planning application for a development comprising 36 apartments, 19 parking spaces and a commercial unit on the land was granted in early 2021. The site is in a prominent position, just off Franciscan Way (the entry point into the town centre by car) and will repurpose a site in the heart of Littlehampton that has been unutilised since its last tenant left in 2015.
The apartments will comprise of 14 one-bedroom, 15 two-bedroom, and seven three-bedroom properties and built using high quality materials such as flint, in-keeping with the conservation area it adjoins. The scheme by GBOLADE Design Studio will provide affordable housing and bring more people in the town centre.
