Climping has had planning permission granted for a development of up to 300 dwellings with ancillary facilities. The new development covers 21.6 hectares and is positioned to the south of the Horsemere Green Lane Character Area, north of the A259.
The application approved:
A minimum of 30% of dwellings as affordable housing;
Commercial premises of 875 sq m;
Shops with floorspace of up to 530 sq m;
Public transport;
Community building with car park;
Open space, village green with children’s play space and pond;
Soft landscaping;
Wetlands, meadows, and extended woodland;
New access road/roundabout on A259, new access onto Horsemere Green Lane and improved footpaths
Land will be made available to improve the road layout at junction of Church Lane and Crookthorn Lane (A259) and Yapton Road and Crookthorn Lane (A259). Newly created pedestrian crossing will improve links to St Mary’s School and the Village Hall.
